Usually blogs have something about something random so heres mine: A list of knitting silliness and ordinary pet peeves and/or randomness.

1. TV shows that have WAY too much kissing.*cough Torchwood cough.*
2. Something I’ve been messing around with is knitting backward when I saw that Stitches had a class on it so I decided to  figure it out. It’s not to hard, but I prefer knitting normal.
3. AQWorlds card game. I have no clue how many times I’ve played it but it is freakin AWESOME. For example:” I attack you with starsword from behind on a gorillaphant coated in snake venom”!
4. Knitting a sweater is so cool and It’s my first one to boot!(sorry about the excessive exclamation points).
5. Did I mention I’m knitting a lacy skirt that will take infinity to make(well I might get a lot done this summer on my family’s road trip).
6. ENCHILADA SOUP! yummy yummy.
7. My new knitting bag!
8. Cute thing are always nice especially if their a hand knit stuffed animal or fuzzy sheep tape measure.
9. 5th season of New Who is still not on demand on Netflix(and the 6th season has already started!*cue unintelligble cuss words mainly starting with bloody*
10. Oh yeah , I will squee over my first really nice thick 2ply rainbow handspun!

I went to Stiches South this weekend and IT WAS AWESOME! I got to try spinning on a wheel and I took a spinning class and got a new yarn bag and a pattern that will take eternity( It’s a skirt. With lace. On 2s and 4s. Need I say more?). What happended this weekend follows so: On Friday I went to the market and got the aforementioned bag and pattern. The market was cool and we(Mom, Chloe, and I) said hi to my Mom’s step-cousin who was at the SEFAA (South East Fiber Arts Alliance) Booth.  Then I was allowed to run around like a kid in a toy shop looking at yarn, needles, books, shawl pins, fiber; well you get the idea. But Saturday was also awesome as I took a spinning class and learned how to ply on a drop spindle(which led to some very nice rainbow yarn) and now know that I must have an angora bunny. After that you think I would be fibered out, but instead I went to Sheep to Shawl at the Atlanta History Center (The rest of this has nothing to do with Stiches South , but still tells of my fiberous weekend) where I got a clump of unwashed wool off a sheep being sheared(not the cleanest thing though) , Saw more spinning, along with natural dyeing. And finally on Monday night I wet felted around wooden eggs for my town’s Easter egg hunt prizes.

I am ever so excited. I mean its only a little less than a week till Stitches South where I’ll be taking a spinning class! And then in May there is a fiber garage sale which I could have a booth at. Oh yeah then there will be June 11 which is both Worldwide Knit in Public Day and Yarn Bombing Day! For those who don’t know what Yarn Bombing is then here is a breif explanation: Yarn Bombing it basically fiber Grafitti. It happens when people knit around lampposts and design other crazy things like make silly things to dangle in trees.

So I got my nice shiny new copy of the Spin Off magazine.  My favorite article was all about spinning paper. It was cool but the first type I made out of thick pieces of green tissue paper and green mohair locks broke way too much. The second came out much nicer though, it was thin pieces of silver tissue paper and magenta mohair locks. The third was a bit odd though it turned out amazing. I tied together thin strips of toilet paper , and after I spun it plied it with yarn made with mohair locks in various colors(All the mohair was from an assorted bag I got for Christmas). All the yarns were cool, but I think I got a whole lot better after the first one!

Yesterday was Awesome. It was that cool because I got my Phat Fiber Box! For those that don’t know what it is, here is a brief explanation: The Box is filled with small samples of fiber and yarn made indie fiber sellers, and each month is a different theme(March is the sweet shop). There are three types of boxes: fiber,yarn, and mixed. I got a mixed so I got loads of cool yarn, fiber, and stitch markers! One of the best parts was that is was filled with candy! (Sorry about the exclamation points, it’s just that Phat Fiber is really cool for me as it is only my second box). But one very very good thing about this box is that I use  some of the fiber and yarn to create more pouches( in fact I already made two today).
